Bimba Rotary Actuators

Bimba Rotary Actuators

Pneu-Turn®

Pneu-Turn®

Pneu-Turn® rotary actuators are manufactured using corrosive resistant components including 304 stainless steel gear shaft and cylinder bodies, anodized aluminum housing and end caps. Standard models include a self-lubricating sintered iron copper shaft bearing. Optional shaft ball bearings are also available.

  • Bore sizes (single and double rack): 9/16", 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2", 2"
  • Anti-backlash rack
  • Standard rotation angles:  45°, 90°, 180°, 270°, 360°
  • Non-standard rotation angles up to 1080° are available
  • Many options available, including cushions, low or high temperature seals, and more
  • Magnetic position sensing available

Pneu-Turn® 3-Position

Pneu-Turn® 3-Position

Pneu-Turn® 3-Position rack and pinion rotary actuators are available in both single and double rack models, and provide three distinct mechanical hard stop positions, that you define at the time of order. The rack and pinion gear and ball bearings are pre-lubricated to provide extensive, maintenance-free operation.

  • Bore sizes (single and double rack models):  9/16", 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2", 2"
  • Position feedback available to identify the shaft location during rotation
  • Low (-40°F) or High Temperature (+400°F) Seals
  • Integrated internal flow controls
  • Anti-backlash (1-1/16", 1-1/2", 2" bores only)
  • Magnet for position sensing

MHRQ Rotary Actuator

MHRQ Rotary Actuator

Bimba's rotary actuators are robust double acting, rack and pinion cylinders. They can be piped from 2 different directions (front and side). To help with installation, orientation holes are located on 2 sides of the cylinder. Reed (MCS1-H) and solid state (MDS1-HN and MDS1-HP) switches that fit into the side grooves are available separately.

  • Available in four sizes
  • Pressure Range: 15-145 PSI for bolt adjustment type, 15-87 PSI for shock absorber type
  • Proof Pressure: 218 PSI
  • 190° max rotation
  • 1/8 NPT and M5x0.8 ports available
  • All "in-stock" items ship the same day

Position Feedback Rack and Pinion

Position Feedback Rack and Pinion

The Bimba Pneu-Turn® position feedback rotary actuator (PTF) provides continuous shaft position sensing. Standard features include shaft ball bearings and the elimination of mid-rotational backlash. Use the Bimba PTF in conjunction with Bimba's Pneumatic Control System (PCS) to achieve rotary shaft positioning accuracy within ± 0.5°.

  • Bore sizes:  1-1/2", 2"
  • Rotary potentiometer assembly mounted inside the actuator
  • Standard angles of rotation range from 45° to 325°
  • Pressure rating:  150 PSI (air or oil with "S" option)
  • Rotational tolerance:  0° to 10°
  • Single and double rack models have zero mid-rotational and end of rotation back-lash
